The Lanphier High School Band has a new director and his name is Mr. Emerson James. He has worked as a music educator for the last six years and really wants to “help build musicians.” This year is Mr. James’ first LHS homecoming event he is directing. He is going with a melody from Duke Ellington called Taking The A Train and many other numbers to set the mood for Lanphiers’ pep assembly. LHS Band will also be playing at the homecoming game and homecoming parade.
The band director has worked tirelessly for weeks on the band’s routine to perfect it. The routine will involve many difficult marching techniques and some jazz. The band is hoping to pump every student, parent, and faculty member up this year and to get everyone into the spirit.
“We have practiced for very many weeks to bring you the best show at Lanphier High School,” said Mackie Baal (12), captain of the color guard.
LHS band hopes to see many supporters at the Lanphier Homecoming game and pep assembly!
