Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year that most every single person dreads. It seems to them that on February 14 it is impossible to go anywhere without seeing couples everywhere. However, it does not have to feel this way, it is more than possible to enjoy this holiday while being single!
One of the best things you can do on Valentine’s Day is to hang out with a group of other single friends! You can also do a Valentine’s Day edition of Secret-Santa with them, so you can get chocolate and flowers! However, if you don’t feel like going out, there is no shame in buying yourself these things and staying home on your couch watching Netflix and eating ice cream. If you chose to stay home, think about all of the money that you are saving by doing so! If you decide to go out, think about the quality time that you are getting to spend with your friends or family.
Valentine’s Day can also be a great day to help out others, especially if you know a couple that never gets a night out, you could babysit! Also, if you just got out of a relationship, you can go out and do something that you could not do during the relationship because they hated it.
If doing anything is too painful, just remember that Valentine’s Day is just another day, and plenty of people are single on Valentine’s Day. Also, there is always next year! Stay away from places that will be packed with couples, and just remember not to compare yourself to anyone else, because you are an individual, and you will find someone in time. Plus, it is only one day of the year, so think about the day after and all the fun that you will have then!
