Christmas Songs and Movies

What is one of the best things about Christmas? Well, it is the catchy tunes and lovely holiday movies! The times where you gather together, turn on the television, watch traditional holiday movies and drink hot chocolate by the fireplace, or even a fake fireplace on your Television. The holidays are one of the best times of the year. Here are some suggestions for music and movies to watch on this holiday season.

One good movie to watch would be The Polar Express. It is about a young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole. He embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe. It is a great movie for kids, teens, and even adults!

Here is a classic Christmas movie for you: Frosty The Snowman. It is one of the most traditional movies to watch on the holidays. It is about a snowman that comes to life from a magical hat and takes the two kids who created him on a little adventure, who then they have to save him from melting. It is a classic! Another great holiday movie is: Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The reclusive green Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog,  Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who, whom changes his mind for the best.

We all have those favorite Christmas tunes to listen to on the holidays, and these are a few traditional favorites. One favorite would be I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus by Jimmy Boyd. The song describes a scene where a child walks downstairs from his bedroom on Christmas Eve to see his mother kissing “Santa Claus” under the mistletoe. Another good one is O Holy Night by Nsync. It talks about The “Holy Savior” and describes the Savior. This next one is Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms. It talks about the happy holidays and the jingly bells outside. This next one is not an original, but it is a great song. Blue Christmas by Elvis Presley. It is about Elvis wanting to be with this unknown “her” for Christmas, and how it will be depressing without her. It is a very beautiful song with a great voice singing it!

Hopefully these tips, catchy tunes, and great movies to watch during the happy season help. They are the best. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!
