Romance Tips

Have you ever felt scared to ask someone out, make the first move, or even just saying hi to the person you like? Well, don’t be. Just go for it! If you get a positive response, that is fantastic! If not, just stay positive and move on.

“Keep moving forward,” said Walt Disney. Keep going down the positive path of life and new paths could lead you to the one that you love and the one that loves you. Never give up. If you give up, the person right in front of you may be the one you love, and you may have never realized it.

Love takes time. Don’t rush into anything. Take things slowly get to know each other; there is no rush needed. If you take things too fast, then you might lose the person you are with. Talk to your significant other about if you are rushing the relationship or not.

According to Andrea Bonior 20 Signs Your Partner Is Controlling You (“20 Signs Your Partner Is Controlling You”), do not let your partner control you. You are your own person. No matter how much you love your partner, you have to stand your ground. Signs that you are being controlled are: your partner is keeping you from seeing friends and family, violence, mental or physical abuse, using guilt as a tool, overactive jealousy, accusations, or paranoia. If you see these signs, tell someone what is going on or break up with your significant other.

Honesty and loyalty are the two keys in a relationship. Honesty is the first key.  If you are not honest, the relationship will “go down hill,” and you will not be able to trust your significant other. So always be honest, with each other, even if it hurts. Loyalty is the second key because without loyalty one or both significant others might cheat, and cheating leads to a heartbreak.

Alexis Beechler (11) explains, “I’ve been in a year and a half relationship, and in our relationship we are committed to each other. To me, commitment is one of the keys to a good relationship. Yes, there might be arguments, but a healthy relationship has arguments and fights. We work it out and make a compromise. I think that if you don’t talk to your significant other about your problems, the relationship will never work. To me, if you keep secrets in a relationship, it will never last. You will always have problems. Talk to each other about anything, especially your problems, and it will most likely work out.”

These are just a few tips. That will hopefully help you. Be confident in yourself, do what is right, and stick up for yourself!
